Cryptocoryne Pygmaea is a beautiful selection for Cryptocoryne fans. This particular species of Cryptocoryne is relatively rare and not commonly available within the aquarium hobby. Contrary to its name, Cryptocoryne Pygmaea is a small to medium-sized Cryptocoryne species that features simple green leaves and a classic Cryptocoryne look in a planted aquarium tank.

Like most Cryptocoryne species, this aquatic plant is fairly easy going and does not require special care to grow properly. Cryptocoryne Pygmaea care is similar to that of other cryptocoryne species, aquatic ferns, anubias and bucephalandra. Although this aquarium plant grows at a slow pace, given the correct care, it will form dense tufts of foliage that will add a lovely touch to any size planted aquarium tank. With all aquarium plants, we recommend using a quality aquarium LED light, CO2 injection and nutrient dense aquarium soil to yield the best results.

To propagate, simply cut off new plantlets growing from the mother rhizome.

Tissue culture aquatic plants are grown in-vitro by laboratories who specialize in propagating aquatic plants. There is a huge selection of plant species that have been propagated this way. This is truly the best option for those who want absolutely zero unwanted pests, algae and pesticides. This makes them perfect for shrimp keepers and any planted tank enthusiasts alike.

NOTE: It is important to remove the tissue culture agar gel before planting. Simply wash the gel away, divide, and plant.
